$5000 Scholarship: Yearly Bursary

In a world where teens face everything from bullying and online harassment to mental health struggles, substance use, and youth violence, it’s more important than ever to empower the next generation to lead change.

For over 20 years, SOS Safety Magazine has been committed to providing preventative education and resources to help youth make safer choices and build stronger communities. The SOS Safety Scholarship is part of that mission — a $5,000 CAD annual bursary designed to recognize and reward teens who are actively working toward a safer future.

Canadian youth ages 15–19 are invited to creatively prepare and submit a 2–3 minute video sharing their action plan, PSA, or innovative idea to address one of the social issues we cover — like bullying, suicide prevention, gang and youth violence, or drug and alcohol misuse. Submissions can be as creative as you want: videos, presentations, visual projects — anything that highlights your voice and your vision for change.

All entries must be submitted through our online form by March 31, 2026, with all supporting materials attached.

What’s New for 2025/2026

Three winners will share the $5,000 scholarship fund, with awards paid directly to the post-secondary institution of their choice — helping them take the next step in their education while inspiring others to take action.

Together, we can spark real conversations and create safer, healthier communities — one family at a time.
