Happy International Women’s Day! Today, we celebrate “the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.” Since the early 1900’s, we have observed International Women’s Day (IWD for short). Through rapid industrialization, radical ideologies, and other social challenges, women have persevered.

Several organizations take part in celebrating this day, including:

  • NGOs
  • Charities
  • Corporations
  • Academic Institutions

“The story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights,” – World-renowned feminist, journalist, and social and political activist Gloria Steinem.

Today calls for gender parity in hopes that one day, all genders will be seen as equals. The advocacy and action are quite clearly growing, as IWD gains more momentum, year after year.
