Teen Sexually Assaulted While Purchasing Phone
A 17-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a 19-year-old man last week in Regina, Saskatchewan. The victim was to purchase a phone from the culprit, so they met up in a parking lot to do the exchange. Things took a turn when the culprit entered the victim’s car, threatening her with a knife, and driving her out of the city where he sexually assaulted her. The suspect then placed her in the truck of the car before driving back into the city. Thankfully, the victim was able to escape the trunk and flee from her captor. The culprit made a court appearance where he was faced several charges including, but not limited to, attempted murder, armed robbery, and sexual assault with a weapon.
It is very important to put your safety first, no matter what the situation. Even though the victim knew the culprit, meeting in such a private and secluded location was very risky. An alternative location could have been a coffee shop or mall – anywhere with other people present. The full video from the source is below.
This topic can be linked back to an article from last month about safety on social media, here. Of course, in those scenarios, the victims did not know the strangers; however, the premise is the same…
Safe practices on the internet are the utmost importance!
